Does brand of ram or same exact product number matter?

I have purchased a DDR3 SDRAM stick that is 2 gig but not the same brand or product number as the rest 3 sticks I own. Will anything be effected? The 3 sticks are also DDR3 SDRAM 2 gig.

In theory it shouldn't matter mixing brands as long as the specs are the same, but it does sometimes happen that two particular brands just won't play nicely together. It's rare but I have had that problem at least once.

What is the speed of this module you bought and the timings and what is the speed and timings of the modules you have? If these are the same you have no problem.
