Hello, so I am a computer enthusiast and I want to try to build a desktop computer for the first time. I am on a tight budget, so I can't afford any high end processors like the i7.

Here are my specs:

CPU: Searching
Motherboard: Asus Z87-A Express ATX
RAM: G. Skill Sniper Gaming Series 16GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 64MB Cache
PSU: EVGA 100-W1-500-KR 500W ATX12V
Case: Azza SIRIUS CSAZ-206S
Optical Drive: LG GH24NS95 Internal DVD-Writer

You may notice, I do not have a video card. I will not be using a video card because my primary uses are light gaming and VirtualBox. Rarely video editing, etc. I'm fine with integrated graphics, my old PC had integrated graphics and worked just fine.

So, I was looking at the Intel Pentium G3258, it was OK for my purposes, but I wanted a better one for a value. Are there any cheap Intel CPUs that are sufficient for my purposes and are good priced?

I know, AMD processors are cheaper, but I prefer not to use them. I've never really had good experience with them. I have seen many recommendations, reviews, and I'm really not that sure.

I have a budget of around $450-$500, and it would be awesome if I could get it down a bit. I already have the OS, Windows 8.1, so no worries.

What are your recommendations and opinions? What CPU should I get?

Thanks in advance!
