Is something wrong with the overclock on my EVGA GTX 980SCs?

So I got a couple EVGA 980SCs. I ran them through Fire Strike and got this result...
17365 Score/ 26045 Graphics/ 11262 Physics/ 6464 Combined

Is this in line with what I should expect? I remember reading the graphics score should be around 26000 for stock but I've seen many overall scores at around 22000 which I've fallen way short of...

I OC'd the cards with a +115Mhz on the GPU Clock and +330 on the Memory Clock also raising Power Target to 105% in PrecisionX. Heres what I got...
17488 Score/ 26197 Graphics Score/ 11306 Physics/ 6543 Combined

Whats goin on here? I figured this result would be significantly better.
Besides setting the Power Management Mode to Max Performance is there any other settings I should be changing to get full use from the cards?

Hey, I'm running a single EVGA 980 sc with no precision x overclocking (I can't seem to find a stable combination for OCing) and your scores look right to me. My results were: 10039 score / 14182 Graphics / 8565 Physics / 3424 combined. Your graphics score has nearly doubled mine which seems right, as has your combined score. I think the overall score also takes into consideration your CPU, perhaps some other things as well. I'm running AMD FX-9590 8 core at 4.71 Ghz with 16GB 1866hz patriot 10-11-10-30 ram. Hope this helps!
Your graphics score depends a lot on the resolution and cpu as well. Where did you get the 26000 reference score from and what was the test hardware, resolution and cpu used in that test bed? If that was tested at, say, 1080p with a 4Ghz i7 and you're using a 3.5Ghz i5 at 1440, or whatever you've got that may or may not be different than the test rig, there will be differences. Cleanliness of the OS and driver versions can make a difference as well. A bare bones test rig is almost always going to score higher than a daily driver, even with great hardware.

I don't remember where I read that a stock 980 sli graphics score would be around 26000 but everything you say makes perfect sense. I have a Corsair 1200AX power supply. I was just wondering if my stock graphics score is more or less in line with what I should be getting and also why there wasn't very much change in the score with the overclock I put on it.

A stock 980 is capable of adequately processing the resource requests of most games without any overclock, in most cases. It's really no different than browsing the web with an i3 vs i7. An i3 is more than capable of processing the necessary browser functions, so an i7 isn't really going to improve your browsing experience much if any. Now if you come across content that requires some client side processing, you will see an improvement.

When gaming, or displaying video, if you are using multiple displays or very high resolutions, you'll see some improvement with the overclocked speeds but if the GPU and CPU are already capable of providing a smooth overall experience with a relatively high FPS at your current settings, you might not notice a lot of improvement just because the card is now faster. A more demanding game, that any given card can't entirely keep up with, might smooth out or increase the FPS with an overclock but the 980 is already about as good as it gets with a single card and 1080p monitor so unless you've got multiple monitors or 4k resolutions, it probably doesn't even need an overclock.

To make certain you've got a clean driver environment you might want to download and run Display driver uninstaller and then afterwards reinstall the most recent drivers for your card. If you've had an AMD card in there before, run it twice. Once for AMD drivers and once for Nvidia. If you've only ever had an Nvidia card installed, just run it for that. The DDU removes a lot of driver garbage, registry settings and general clutter that don't necessarily always get removed with the add/remove programs or by just installing the new drivers without removing the old settings first. It cures a lot of driver issues around here so it might be worth trying just to certain you don't have any bits of old code causing performance issues.
