Hello there. I just bought a HP 15-g011sq Notebook, and while trying to install windows xp, i get a blue screen. The problem is i can't find in BIOS the AHCI option, so i will clear the blue screen problem.

I have even tried to slipstream the AMD SATA driver into a Windows XP installation disc. Still getting that damn blue screen. I've managed to install without any problems windows 7 (x64), also windows 8.1 (x64) but whenever i try windows xp i get the blue screen of doom. The thing is i really need to install the XP because of a specialized software that only works on that old good working XP...

Good luck with that. HP doesn't offer any drivers for Windows XP on that platform so you're on your own to identify each piece of hardware and search out any drivers that may exist.

@ex_bubblehead, i don't need any drivers for windows xp. If i manage to get past the blue screen and install windows xp, i can than connect a cable to one of the usb, install the cable's driver, afterwards just run my software which has a .bat executable. I don't need video card drivers or anything else on the XP. Just need to install windows xp on the laptop (if i manage to overcome the blue screen)

The SATA drivers weren't copied from another cd. So, the reason why i keep getting the blue screen is because i have to do the whole process of slipstream on a pc which has windows XP (x86) installed??

Well i'm gonna get a laptop with an xp windows, and try the slipstream again and see how it goes. Also, an easier method wouldn't be for me to get an external HDD and install windows XP on it? then just boot it from my laptop and just run that stupid .bat software???

L.E: I just need to use one of the regular 2.0 USB. I have the right SATA drivers (not just any SATA driver), and i did select text mode in Nlite. So the only problem would remain the fact that i didn't do the slipstream process on a pc having an windows XP x32 OS running

NLite can be run on any version of Windows except 9x. 32-bit/64-bit is irrelevant. The OP's problem is that the laptop he has chosen was not designed with XP in mind.

@Valentin why do you need XP to run on the bare metal? You would be much farther ahead to reinstall Windows 8, then install either VMWare or VirtualBox and install XP in the VM.

@ex_bubblehead - I have an old software (made by someone), which only runs on XP. The software's launcher is a .bat file. So it won't run on anything but XP. Also having to use an usb to serial adapter cable, which connects the software with a cpu from (big mercedes cars - used for public transportation) which it gathers data and allows me to modify certain parameters of the car.
Anyway, the ideea is i need to dualboot. Having a windows 8.1 and an XP. The problem remaining, is that i get the blue screen, and while trying to use a virtual machine and run the XP, i can't make a connection between the software and the other end of the usb to serial cable. Gonna try and install an XP copy on an usb drive, and try to run it from there.

LATER EDIT: Could use some help with installing an XP copy on an usb drive . Apparently i can't find a good tutorial to do this. Need to install windows xp ON the usb drive not FROM. Thanks!!!!

The XP installer will not allow installation to a removable drive. You're going to spend far more time than it's worth trying to get XP running on a newer laptop, and in the end will most likely not be successful. Cut your losses and obtain an older laptop ( 3-5 years old), install XP on that, and reinstall Win 8 on the new one.

I have Win 8.1 running on the new one (using it right now). If i don't manage to install XP on it, that means i've spent money on this laptop for nothing. My old laptop was stolen, so i bought a new one. Never thought i would have all these problems... [sad face]
