I'm getting the Asus VS229H-P.

I am thinking about getting either the Amazon A100 speakers or the Cyber Acoustics Subwoofer Satellite System (CA-3602a).

I will connect PS3 with HDMI and PC with DVI-D dual link. The monitor has 1x 3.5mm Mini-Jack(HDMI only)

The problem is, I have no clue how I would connect the PS3 and PC to the monitor in a way which I would not have to unplug anything to be able to hear sound. I want to be be able to switch between HDMI input and DVI input without a struggle

Solution
The monitor has earphone out for HDMI audio so that HDMI switcher would be far neater mate IMO.
Obviously you'll need to factor in another HDMI cable for the pc.
I used the exact same splitter for my old TV which only had 2xhdmi to switch between satellite box/xbox360/ps3 - it worked well - sometimes the auto switching got confused if more than 2 sources were on but there's a button to manually change inputs.
You can then just plug your speakers into the earphone out on the monitor with a lot less cabling & messing about+ you have a HDMI input spare in case you add anything in the future

Steer clear of the amazonbasics if you want any kind of sound quality.
The cyberhome set looks decent but the subwoofer is BIG!
Have a look at these...
That monitor has no audio inputs for dvi or vga & only passes hdmi audio out so is not ideal mate.
If you have HDMI out on your PC then adding one of these will enable you to use HDMI cables for both ps3 & PC & just flick between with a button press - its probably the easiest option by miles.

Also you are aware the 23.5 inch model of the monitor is exactly the same price as the 21.5 inch if you click the option box ??

I was thinking of getting a 3.5mm Stereo Male To 2X RCA Female Adapter. I would connect the HDMI cable from PS3 to monitor, and the white and red portion of the AV cable would connect to the adapter. This would convert the PS3 audio to a 3.5mm audio plug.

I would then get a 3.5mm audio splitter which would allow me to plug in two things. So the computer would connect to one part of the splitter, and the AV cable that is converted for the PS3 would connect to the other part. Those two things would connect to the speaker.

I just noticed that those two are the same price lol. Guess I'll switch to that.

Also, I can connect my PC to VGA, DVI-D, or HDMI.

Have a look at these creative - I'm familiar with these - no fancy features but a smallish footprint, decent volume vow & really outstanding on the sound quality front for gaming, movies & music - & cheap too

So I can just get an HDMI splitter and connect the PS3 and PC to input, and monitor to output. Then just connect the 3.5mm plug on the monitor to the speakers? Are you sure that will work, because I will order it right now if you are certain.

Yeah I switched to it. I'm fairly certain my desk will not fit the 23 inch model, but yolo.
