I bought myself a GTX 750 SC from newegg here

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I saw it said I needed a 300w psu so I got this one.

Later I was reading this here

http://www.legitreviews.com/evga-geforce-gtx-750-1gb-sc...

Where it says I need a 400w (got that covered mines 485w) as well as a +12v rating of 20 amps. I checked on my box and my +12v rating is only 15 amps.

Will this hinder my performance and if so by how much? Also is this requirement true, because I'm not seeing it anywhere else

If that's all and you aren't mining bitcoins with your rig (which I highly don't recommend) you should be fine. The 20 amps thing is more of a recommendation, because your gpu will be using watts, however, do not hold me liable, as I am no electrician, just a pc building enthusiast.

You should be fine about your GPU, however what CPU are you using. You most likely will not have any performance issues as long as you dont try and overclock, I am not sure about the amperage, but otherwise you should be fine.
