ArmA 3 Steam Server Hosting

So, after the infamous GameSpy shutdown, you can't just go on to ArmA and launch a server via the multiplayer browser's "New" button, like you used to be able to. No. Now it's a lot more complicated. I have never been able to host a Steam server, so I was quite sad to hear about the GameSpy shutdown.

Some of my friends can host a Steam server without problems, even though they haven't done anything at all (or so they say). No port-forwarding, no scrds.exe, nothing. I have been trying to use TADST (v2.6) to launch dedicated servers, but the servers only come up in my LAN browser in ArmA. When I am in my server (both with the "New" button and when using TADST to launch a dedicated server), my friends can't see my server info on Steam. It says "Server not responding". I have the ArmA 3 Steam Server tool. I'm not sure what the problem is.

I have encountered a problem when trying to port forward recently. I can no longer access my router's IP login via my computer. The router is a Netgear R6300, and the login IP is 192.168.1.1.
However, I remember forwarding all of the required ports, so it shouldn't be a problem.

I have looked everywhere, and it looks so complicated.

It's not the hardware channel so i can't figure out your rooter issue.

What you can try if you want to play ONLY with your friends on your server, is connect you two with an LAN emulator or VPN like "Hamachi (not that good anymore) or Tunngle (seems to be new and specially for gaming)

Second Option is to set up a rent vserver and set up a arma server on it (very hard!!!) OR Rent a WebControlled ReadyToRun Server if you want to keep it running and play static missions like Altis Life
Google here

best regards

Hamachi, Tuungle and Evolve? That's what I'm trying to avoid. I would use them, and they do work, however, I have an issue. They used to work fine (Hamachi for private Minecraft servers), with a clear direct tunnel and a low ping for my friends (100 or lower). At one point in time, my tunnels to EVERYONE became relayed. I don't remember changing anything in my router settings or my firewall etc, but now with all 3 of the LAN emulators my friends have extremely unplayable ping (300-400, when only a few streets away).

seems that any tunnel is trolling you. Meaning you're maybe using 2 tunnels at a time. check your START>>CMD>>ipconfig
and uninstall all non natural network devices. even removeall tunneling software, use CCLeaner to clean your pc and check your ip ingame after.

Thanks for the help, but I've given up completely.

I just can't access my router login website thing. It doesn't load, and I'm not going to even try to get it working.
