I am building a computer for my friend and I am looking for the best graphics card for under £90. I can pretty much guess the answer but I need to make sure.

P.S I don't mind if it's an older card, I just care about the best performance for my friend.

Solution
The R7 260X , formerly known as the Radeon 7790 is the best thing you can get in that price range. However bump it up to 105 quids then you can get an R9 270 or Radeon 7870 Ghz edition which is a much better card at a minimal price difference.

you can get a 260X for that money(you can choose from a couple of different brands as well for under £90)

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Video Card: MSI Radeon R7 260X 2GB Video Card (£79.99 @ Ebuyer)

just hope the PSU is decent to power it(If you're building the PC i'm sure you've chosen a good one)

Agree, it's worth somehow trying to edge the £105 needed for the XFX R9 270 when you see the performance differences from 260x and 270 for £25

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1080?vs=1044

also uplink, in the UK the 750ti is out of his budget so please use UK partpicker for a UK user? thank you.

I mean heck, an R9 270 is essentially the same price as a 750ti and as long as you're not struggling in terms of power consumption it's a one horse race.

@Uplink If you bump it up to range of the 750 ti , you'll find much better cards than it . The only advantage of a 750 ti is the lack of an external power connector .

The R7 265 and R9 270 are much better in its price range , unless you want to save on the PSU .

I'd go with the MSI or Sapphire models posted above both cheaper and in my personal preference Sapphire make some of the best AMD cards but the XFX won't do you "bad"

also uplink did you even see the £ sign or realise countries outside of the USA exist :D

and why would you buy that 750ti over this: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-xfx-radeon-r9-270-boost-28nm-5600mhz-gddr5-gpu-900mhz-boost-925mhz-1280-streams-dp-dvi-hdmi-plus

His question was already answered and the 260x is a better deal.

What are you talking about?! The 260x is obviously less powerful then a 750 ti we already covered this and the 270 is better then it at this budget, the 260x fits his budget better.

ignore him my friend, he has been lost to the dark side of brand bias and cannot comprehend that the 750TI is the same price as the R9 270 and therefore in this case not worth looking at.

One day he may be redeemed from the dark side.

@OP

I hope the 260X serves you well.

Yeah I care mostly about price to performance at this rate. In my high end computer I have an nvidia gtx 970 as nvidia wins with pure performance but for my friends computer he needs cheap performance thus amd is the answer.

Where I live, also including shipping the XFX is the best option. XFX still make great graphics cards and they are very pretty.

True, it's mostly preference but I've had an XFX 6770 and nothing went wrong so should be all good.
