Hey guys, I'm upgrading my old pc (graphics, cpu and mobo). For the graphics card I decided to go with ZOTAC GTX 970 AMP! Extreme Edition. For mobo I kinda liked Asus Maximus VII Hero and for cpu I'm not sure what to go with. I've checked Intel Core i5-4690K/Intel® Core™ i7-4790K/Intel Core i7-5820K. I am planning to overclock and my budget is max 1000$ for all these three components.

For cpu I'm okay with anything which does not bottleneck my ZOTAC GTX 970 AMP! Extreme OC. I'm kind of an audiophile too so I went with maximus 7 hero. I will primarily use it for 1080p gaming as of now and also 3d rendering in Autodesk Maya and other design softwares.
Suggestions would be really helpful. If you guys have better suggestions for graphics and mobo too, please share. Thanks in advance.

Yes it is a decent mobo and very reliable. I would go for maximus and 4790k. And for gpu this 970 is very good. It has very high core clock speed and memory clock.

My bad, i'll take out the 5820k but if you have any good motherboard with lga2011-3 socket within 200-300$ price range lemme know. with good audio chip and overclock potential.

On newegg, the i7-4790K is $300, and it is as good as it gets for your gaming and rendering.
The 5820K is not compatible with the motherboard.
The maximus vii is a very good motherboard and is $205.
That leaves $495 for a graphics card.

The amp is $410 with a boost clock of 1355.
If budget is tight, look at the $380 evga GTX970 FTW with a boost clock of 1367

Better, yet, if you can stretch $ 55 why not just go with a GTX980

Yet I see no reason to look for X99 and 5th generation i7 cpus. 4790k is a monster cpu by intel that can handle everything without bottlenecking your gpu. Also for X99 you will need to buy DDR4 rams which are very expensive.

thanks man, there is one thing i'm in Malaysia and GTX 970 and 980 is kinda expensive here i'm spending 1475RM which is nearly 475 bucks. For the cpu and mobo its almost the same just 20$ more i guess. I donno whether should I wait for the prices to go down or just buy it anyways to get "the crew" game for free. As for EVGA i heard its kinda noisy and its really tough to get evga here.
