i recently got a new keyboard (zalman zm400g) and i noticed that the up key doesnt work unless you tap it really hard and i was wondering if i could fix it somehow? and also, is it safe to try to pop off the key caps on a backlit keyboard?

Solution
The membrane just got jammed funny is my guess. Take the key off. Than try to just press where the key used to be. If you need to press super hard still, it may be broken. If it is broken, there may be a slight chance to fix it, but it is mostly a mechanical feature and may be difficult to. If it works with a light press when hitting it without the key, than the key is still functional and properly putting the key back on will solve the problem. Best of luck =)

Thank you so much dude, i wasnt really keen on doing that mainly cuz of the LED but u were 100% right, the membrane was just tilted a bit. I just moved it to the center with a hair pin and its as good as new, thank you so much :D
