How much should my PC cost to run in terms of power ?

My PC uses 258w at full power and my mum is determined this is costing her tons of money due to power consumption but I have tried explaining to her on multiple occasions that the average household appliance probably costs more to run than my PC. Is there anyway to prove to her how much this is actually costing. I live in Scotland so the prices might be a bit different here.
