Hey all,
i saved my money to finally play BF4 on ultimate by switching from two 6770 to a GTX780 ti. Now when i play BF4 hangs. it doesn't get better when i turn down the graphics. I have a 650w PSU with no overclocking.

Any Ideas of what i should try?

thank you
Geo

You will experience a noticeable amount of bottlenecking because of your processor the ram is enough for BF4 but not enough for many modern or upcoming games.

It may be a driver problem you are facing or some malware issue uninstall your nvidia drivers and then use guru 3d http://www.guru3d.com/content-page/guru3d-driver-sweeper.html to sweep away the left over drivers clean your registry with CC cleaner and do a malware scan with malwarebytes.

GLaperche, please ignore this nonsensical response from Sora. We're all certain that you did not have a power supply powering a power supply.

If the PSU was running 2 x 6770s OK, it should be OK on a single 780Ti. 650w is plenty for either GPU option you have.

What you are describing does not sound like a power issue. We'll help you get it sorted. I also suggest posting at the Corsair forum so that you can avoid power supply forum trolls.

Thanks, your friend Mike, aka Yellowbeard. Corsair Employee.

So i've done as suggested --the Guru3d pulled up some old AMD stuff and removed --i uninstalled the nvidia drivers also. reinstalled and i have the same problem. Ran 3dmark --no issues--ran furmark no issues -- play the game and its lagging.
any suggestions as to the next steps?

thanks
Geo

I looked at your config you are using 6 gb of memory which is kind of low so wile you are getting the lags just hit ctrl+alt+del to enter task manager and under the performance TAB check how much memory is free.

So i thought you had it Pritz87 and Mechanics --i have 8gb of memory not six...--found a loose stick. fixed that thought it'd be good but NAH.. still the same. Cranked the CPU up to 3.2gz --still the same. I'd expect if the CPU were the bottleneck, i would have seen some improvement. i do not.

tried re-installing the game = the same. put the game on my other boot which is a regular HDD -same issue. tried playing early morning to see it's a provider issue. same --this is odd...
