Modified 6 pin PCIE power for gpu

I'm considering pulling the leads from the plastic connector and plugging them into the gpu socket individually due to lack of space available in the case. My question is why shouldn't I do this? Also, I am open to suggestions.

I would suggest using a 6-pin to 6-pin PCI-E 90 degree right angle extension cable first if that will fit.

While pulling the plastic connector can work, you'll run into the issue of the leads falling out or worse yet plugged into the video card incorrectly.

The first time you get a lead wrong, or the first time a lead or two pops out and shorst, your answer will be sent via smoke signal. A loose 12v at 2a is a fire waiting to happen.
