I want to build a 4k gaming pc is the Radeon R9 295X2 enough for 4k gaming or it's best to use SLI or crossfire technology ?

Solution
I'd just like to correct an earlier post - 2 970s in SLi are not better in 4K than the 295x2, it's actually the other way around.
1 monitor with up to 2560x1600, the 2 GTX 970s rule. Most people will probably use this
For multiple monitors or 4K, the r9 295x2 is better.

So it really just depends on your configuration. But for the average (even hardcore, but average setup) gamer, or a visual designer, the GTX 970 SLi is the way to go.

Wait for the 300 series or for the new titan , I just speculate on new GPUs,but I don't think you should build a gaming rig aiming to play in a new gen gaming resolution like 4K is , using old GPUs or new GPUS like the 970 and the 980 that are not built for 4K gaming (you need a lot of Vram [more then 4GB] for 4K gaming with high details)

So just keep calm and hold you horses , also if you didn't bought 4k monitor yet I would suggest waiting with it and deciding on what monitor you are going to buy after deciding on a GPU.

I highly recommend going 4k with G-sync/FreeSync depended on what GPU you will go for, personally I won't get any 4K with out one of this features.

r9 295x2 has 8GB DDR5 already so its good enough. With this beast you have more room for quadfire unless you have room on your mobo to add extra card to make 3way sli if you do sli on any 900 series. I personally would choose r9 295x2 since its 2 gpus on 1 PCB which makes crossfire already and if you want to add another one later to make quadfire. first off all less cards=less heat in your case compared to 3 or 4 cards running in your case unless you have benching chassis. r9 295x2 is powerful beast. People are saying it runs hot but actually its coolest running card ive had so far between GTX 770 with titan cooler, 290X and others, between reference cards and acx coolers, and twin frozers etc. Hands down on r9 295x2. Prices are great right now little over $700.

I hope that helps.

yeah you right

It has 4GB Vram on one gpu.....but since there is 2 gpus its actually 8 GB. But only 4GB is effective. Its marketing gimmick but i think that 4GB will last for a while.
