Helping a friend out, I ran a run of cat5 from her router to her Vizio TV. In the menu. Tv shows as wired network connected, So I went to test out netflixs for her. It brings up her info (recently watched and the like) but when I choose something it says video is not available. (says this for everything) Verified it working on a different TV with Apple TV. I then had her plug in her laptop (which is apple) and some pages would load and some would say file not available. I am really stumped.
both ends Orange/w-Orange-Green/w-blue-blue/w-green-brown/w-brown

That is the correct pairs. What you now want to do is run from some of the speed test sites and make sure you get the same speed using your new cable as a short cable plugged directly into the router.

The only thing I could suspect is that you are getting errors on the new cable because the ends are not terminated correctly. You could have a wire that is not making full contact. It is very hard to test this without a expensive meter so the best you can do is transfer data and see if you are getting packet loss which should result in slower transfer speeds.

You other option is to just cut the end off and try again and hope you get lucky the next time. It takes a lot of practice to get these on correctly the the first time.
