[PSU] What Wattage Do You Think I Need?

Solution

Yes it would, your CPU and GPU is what most of your power will be used for, with your CPU and GPU combined, you'll only get up to 250w. The rest of your parts takes a lot less power, for example, the RAM, each piece will only take up to 2-4w. So a 750w would have enough power for what you need and a little room to breathe with some extra power.

Edit: Yeah, what he said above, if you ever want to overclock or something, the little...

I think this PSU should be enough for your systems, the new GTX 970 a d 980 doesn't take that much power, Intel CPUs uses low power also, and 8GB of RAM doesn't take that much either, same for the motherboard. Here is the link to the PSU, I have a 1500 watt version of it, love it so far, comes with all kinds of protection, plus it is platinum certified, and it comes with Corsair Link, which will tell you exactly how much power your computer will use. Hope this helps, good luck :)

You sure? I think 860 Watt is a bit more than I need. I have seen people run it on a 700 Watt before I believe.

Well, if you want the 700 range, that would work too, I just picked the best one, here's one that's 750 watt from Evga, only $108 too. 10 year warranty, but having more is better than not having enough, right? Have fun :)

For a system using a single GeForce GTX 970 graphics card NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 500 Watt or greater system power supply that has a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 35 Amps or greater and that has at least two 75 Watt 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors. (Minimum system power requirement based on a PC configured with an Intel Core i7 3.2GHz 130 Watt TDP processor.)

Overclocking of the CPU and/or GPU(s) may require an additional increase to the maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current ratings, recommended above, to meet the increase in power required for the overclock. The additional amount required will depend on the magnitude of the overclock being attempted.

NOTE: Minimum recommended system power supply wattage is based on the specific graphics card and the typical power requirements of other system components. Your system may require more or less power. OEM and other pre-assembled PCs may have different power requirements.
