hii guys...apparently i have some very confused issue with my graphic card

initially using gtx 760 with silverstone SFX 450w gold,i notice while the gc in idle, temperature shoots up max to 85c, the rest of other parts have normal temp...i thought my gc have problem so i change to newly gtx 970 but still the same problem persist...could it be that my SFX is faulty? i'm running out of option and money now,its impossible to replace every parts as i just bought my pc last 2 months...

help and opinions are very appreciated, thanx.

p/s my pc specs as follows

i5 4440,8gb ram,giga h87n itx,gtx 970,SFX 450W, RVZ01 casing,one ssd,one hdd 3.5

You are pushing that GPU to its limits, it maybe running warmer because of it too. a 970 is recommended to have at least a 750W i think and while it doesnt need to be that high 450W is way under what it should be. Upgrade to a 550W min. and a 620W-650W would be ideal.

what software do you use to monitor temps in celcius?

as far as i'm concern reference gtx 970 only 145w tdp, previously i'm running 170w gtx 760 also no problem, so total load shudnt exceed even 350w,plus this SFX 450W is gold rating...its just recently this issue occurs and i dont know what to do anymore.

usually i use speccy, speedfan and HW monitor, all giving almost the same value so it shud be correct i assume

i suggest you to uninstall the drvers and download latest drivers from nvidias site

i already did that, latest driver 344.75,same things happened...FYI i just bought new psu today, seasonic m12 620w,but still temp rise till 80c now...dont know what else to do,i dont suppose i need to change to new motherboard rite?

you didnt need to buy a new psu.. you should have bought more fans for your case instead.. sheesh.. be sensible

initially i thought the psu was faulty, turns out i'm wrong...n to make it more confused, now i'm running my desktop without casing i.e putting all hardwares on my table...so i guess adding more fans is not necessary.

yes idling 80c is not normal, currently idle 70c,according to gpuz the gpu load is 93%, fan speed 68%,fans 2455rpm,power consumption 45% TDP,all while idling...

i will screenshot what program running in background later...

you are running it on an open table !!! are you serious??

you need to check your gpu cooler.. there must be all kinds of dusk and gunk in it..

thats why you are not getting propper cooling..

there is a reason pc have a case.. its to keep the dust and gunk out... *ultrafacepalm*

FYI to make things clear, before the problem happened,my hardwares are all in my casing, its just that i running it open now so that i can plug/unplug the cables for testing purpose...and the gpu (gtx 970) confirms no dust since i just NEWLY bought it 4 days ago

Your GPU load is 93% means there must be random program running behind your computer.
Your GPU is working even you idling that's why it staying hot.
Try type /msconfig and then go to startup tab. Observe whether there are any "not necessary program/application" running automatically and then unclick. Maybe you can try reformat your computer too.

yes thats the problem,i dont know why...anyway if the temp is high i will restart, after one or two hours the temp gonna rise again,i'm running out of option now, cannot do fresh format yet,at least until this weekend since i'm using the pc for some work...what i can do for now is using onboard gpu for a while.

are you using pirated watch_dogs???

no i didnt even play watch dogs...in fact i only play FIFA and COD:AW

i asked because , the early copies of pirated watchdogs were infected with stealth bitcoin miners .. they used the gpu to crunch numbers and fill their wallets while you struggled to game with a spiking gpu.. piracy has its own problems :D

ok got it,but i'm not worry about that since i didnt play FPS...so i think in the end i need to format my pc,kinda lazy to reinstall all apps but if that the only solution i have,i guess i didnt have any choice then...i will update again after formatting my pc.

win reinstall will help.. a good antivirus sweep wouldnt hurt though
