First time build. Finally prepared to purchase using Black Friday deals. Hoping for assistance confirming the build quality, parts compatibility, and possible cost savings:

- Selected ASUS MoBo for HomeCloud, for ease of use as a HTPC. Open to alternative products that provide similar functionality
- Case is preferred to be HTPC to match A/V reciever. Selected because of USB3.0 on front, and optical drive space
- I read that G.Skill Ares memory has a lower profile. Is this even necessary?
- Hope to be future proof for a few years, including eventual overclocking

That looks pretty good, I think I would do something like this if you're in the market for an HTPC and go for an mITX rig as opposed to a full ATX rig:
