Xbox 360 Controller Receiver Driver Problems

Alright, so...

A few months ago I was enjoying gaming on my Xbox 360 controller and then for some reason that I forget, I had to uninstall the drivers. Then, when attempting to reinstall them, I found that the only option presented to me in the Device Manager for driver installation was for "XBOX 360 Controller". As expected, the wireless receiver didn't function properly (it didn't sync). That was the only option there, and no matter how many times I install the correct drivers , it refuses to show up when configuring the device. I know the device is not defective because I've used it numerously on another computer and it works fine (install the drivers, then configure the hardware). I just really would love anyone's help with this so I can use my controller again.

Thanks a ton.

Have you tried using different usb ports, for some reason mine only works when plugged into the front of the computer not the back. also, which windows do you have.

Windows 7 64 bit, and yes I have tried different USB ports and I still cannot find the "Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver" driver when configuring the unknown device.

i literlly just opened my new pc with win 7 and downloaded the driver...everything seems to work.... Really do not know what the problem is. My older pc gave me error code 43 and did not install any drivers until i changed the usb ports. I thought you might have the same issue. Sorry

Can't believe I fixed it.

I guess something corrupted -- I went into the Control Panel to uninstall the Microsoft Xbox Accessories, reinstalled the Microsoft drivers, and boom -- it gave me the option for the Wireless Receiver in the driver window.

Thanks anyway, guys!
