Until today I had my mind made up that two GTX 970s dominated anything in that price bracket.However, upon looking at the R9 295x2 I'm now finding myself weighing my options. I haven't used an AMD (/ATI) card since the Radeon 9700 Pro was new back in the days of cavemen, so when it comes to team red I'm pretty much a noob, so please forgive any false assumptions.
From what I see the R9 295x2 hovers around the same price, but offers a good bit of performance more, especially at the higher 4k settings. It also has 8GB of vram, which would come in handy for me.

Thoughts? Am I missing the obvious? How does R9295x2 overclock?
