So.. Long story short A small flower/Cup of water spilled into the top/down the back of my PC.... I wiped everything up couple of min later computer shut completely off. Yes insides where wet motherboard seemed dry most water seemed to be on the top of the PSU which is on the bottom.

At first thought it was the PSU but the PSU powers another older motherboard completely so I should assume its the motherboard and or CPU? Would a Bad CPU cause the motherboard to not post at all? I have a FX-6300.

I did try another PSU with my system but its pretty old 295 watt max and no sign of life, But I can use the PSU that had got wet and it powers another system.

Could the CPU had been fried from the motherboard? Or should I just really worry about the motherboard? It seems my SSD is fine and my HD is hopefully fine, Havent tested my Storage Drive yet.

Any Suggestions would be great, What sucks is tommrow is thanksgiving so prob wont get a motherboard til mid next week.

Thanks.

Just replace your mobo, xmass sales are coming up and you could probably get a fairly decent one for cheap. I just built a PC and got an okay board for $80 and I'm playing high end games like evil within 60FPS, Arma 50-60FPS, Mafia 2 60fps. MOBO has little effect on gaming if you don't plan on overclocking. Even with this cheap board i clock my FX 8320 with my Noctua 14 from 3.5-4.5 no problem. just make sure the Mobo is compatible with all you other components.

Sounds like the motherboard. Do the fans spin? Electronics are killed by water due to it causing shorts across circuits and inside components. CPUs are pretty resilient, but if they get wet they will die just as fast.

No Fans no lights no Diag #s nothing, Just a small click from the PSU. PSU powers another motherboard from 2008 but not my AM3+ Board from 2012. If the CPU was bad would that cause this or would I at least see power? Ive always hated my ASROCK Extreme 4 970 anyway lol.

I was looking at a Gigabyte 990FX for around $78 after rebate.
