ASUS Crosshair V formula Z power conectors

Hi guys, ive bought the V formula Z and it should be arriving in the next few hours, but ive noticed it has an 8-pin and a 4-pin cpu power connector.

Does the motherboard require me to use both? Or can i just use the 8-pin?

"The Crosshair V Formula-Z is equipped with an additional 4-pin CPU power connector. While fitting it isn’t necessary, it can help the stability of high-level overclocks such as the one we’re attempting here. If your PSU doesn’t have one spare, don’t worry!"
