i video edit with adobe premire cs6 and i was wondering if i should upgrade to 8 core or switch to intel and heres my specs
Fx 6300 @4.5ghz
ga-970a-ud3
hd 7870
antec 620w psu
and ok but it would be nice for faster rendering times

If the money is no issue, you can certainly go for i7 5960X, but since this CPU is extremely expensive and usually an overkill for home rendering purposes, I would advise to go for i7 5820K, which should serve you great as well for a lot less.

As for the video card, I would suggest you to take a look at NVidia's Quadro series, they are much more geared towards professional work (likewise, much less so for gaming). Depending on your needs, it might be worth it. QUadros have way better optimized drivers for professional apps, so you can expect a boost in performance even with their base models.

The closest I could get is $1100. Includes CPU, cooler, RAM, motherboard and a very solid Quadro K2000 graphics card. The card itself is $340, so if you prefer CPU rendering only, you can save on that. It all depends on your needs. YOu can even go for Quadro K4000 if you have additional $200 to spare for an additional 2x boost in graphics performance.

Note that this system still needs PSU, Case and hard drive(s). It was built on the assumption that you could reuse them from your current rig.

Here is a nice review of Quadros on CS6:

NH-D14 is one of the best coolers out there, so even better, you can leave the cooler out. i7 5820 has 6 cores with 6 additional threads and it will blow your current CPU out of the water. Given that you gave great cooler already, you might as well try overclocking since this CPU is fully unlocked.

Just make sure your PSU is a quality one.

Maxwell works a lot better than nvidias other cards in adobe, they didn't cripple maxwell as much as their past cards for professional applications. a 4790k and even something like a 970 will be just fine. or for 80-120 bucks more you can add an extra two hyperthreaded cores and ddr4 support on a X99 platform. But you would need to spend a lot of money just for the memory since you couldn't use ddr3

I would just sit on it for a bit, just wait until the holidays, I'm pretty sure newegg will have motherboard and cpu combo deals. You probably could get a solid motherboard and the 4790k for a really good price then. I think 4790 or 4790k and a maxwell gpu and your render times should be 3x or more faster

If you aren't gaming to much I would just get the 8350 with a gtx 970, you should see a good performance bump in adobe. If you have the money just get the 4790 or K edition if you want to overclock, the performance in adobe between the two would be about 20% I wouldn't put money into an lga 1155 board and chip
