just updated and restarted my laptop now cannot get access to anything even internet because of message Catalyst control centre host application has stopped working! I have been at this since 10am (4 hours ago) all the answers are telling me to go online to update certan drives but I cant get online!! I tried system restore and thought it was working until the same message popped up! Is this a real problem or a virus? Help!! By the way I am on another laptop that is why I am able to post this.

since your on the other laptop, try downloading the video drivers for the laptop(which as the problem) and then once the download is complete u can go ahead and uninstall the drivers from "programs and features" ()and then restart your computer.Now check in device manager if there is a basic video driver showing up , if it is, then go ahead and copy this new set of drivers which u have downloaded onto a flash drive and then connect it to the laptop and then proceed with the installation. Try this and see , it should solve the problem
Thanks for your advice I am going to keep this on file in case this happens again. In actual fact I managed to get into programs and tried a "repair" on the AMD Catalyst and it has seemed to work! Its strange that all this happened after I had updated and restarted this morning?
