Hello,

I am having this issue in games such as battlefield 4, Crysis 3, World of Warcraft, Battlefield 3 and Far Cry 3, the issue is that when i play the games, it will stutter or freeze for 0.5 seconds or a second, i dont know the exact time but it is really short and it happens at random, it is not random for lets say every 10 minutes but more like every 1-5 minutes so it is a frequent random. I have tried disabling SLI and just running with 1 card but the issue still persists, I use fraps to check the fps and it is really good, but when the stutter/freeze occurs, it seems that the fps drops for example on World of Warcraft i was getting 195 frame rates then the stutter/freeze occurs and it says that it drops down to 130-145 frame rates.

The drop ISN'T significant that it would fall down to 20-30 frame rates but it drops when the stutter/freeze occurs. This issue has never happened to me before, but I just noticed is when I got back into Battlefield 4 and from there I tested these other games.

The cards haven't be overclocked and are running at 65-70 degrees when under full load. I have tried turning fraps off too see if that was the cause, but it isn't, I have also tried turning MSI Afterburner off and uninstalling it and it still didn't go away. I have reformatted my computer with a fresh install of windows 7 and it still didn't fix the issue. Please help me sort this issue out, as I have payed all this money and can't even use the graphics cards properly.

My system Specs are:

Intel Core I7 4770k @ 4.4GHZ
16GB Ram 2133mhz
GTX 780 SLI 3GB Vram
1200W Power supply
Asrock Z87 Fatal1ty Killer Motherboard
SSD 250GB
HDD 1TB

Solution
Did you have this before???? when you sli???? or just now a lot of folks wont sli or crossfire because Of the known facts of stuttering in gaming on both camps amd and NVidia GPU.

i accidentally chose your answer before haha, but in my first post that started it, I say that i have tried these games WITHOUT sli and the issue keeps on persisting, and no I didn't have this issue before SLI but I didnt have this issue after SLI either, i think it happened after updating my driver but I can't tell due to the fact that i stopped playing games for the period because of exams and then I started again and the issues began :/

I have tried rolling back the drivers,
I have tried not overclocking my CPU,
i have tried installing drivers in Safe mode,
I have tried de-fragmenting my hard drive,
I have tried reducing game settings (it even happens at the lowest setting and i get 300fps),
I have tried reformatting computer and installing fresh EVERYTHING
I have tried uninstalling geforce experience and HD audio.

But nothing helps

I have tried using intel hd graphics 4600 and i think i had the issue in World of Warcraft but I couldnt test other games due to the fact that bf4 and the rest have frame rate below 20 on intel graphics.

Best not to assume anything. even if it does have a good cooler, it could be making bad contact causing it to throttle due to the heat.

I am using corsair h100i cpu cooler and under load when gaming the cpu reaches 59-62 degrees. Also, this issue happens on both multi player mode and single player mode.

Cool, can rule that out then.

Try reverting to 8Gb of ram, if still no good, switch it with the other module(s).

Also, have you tried a bios update?

I have had 8GB of ram just before but I upgraded to 16GB because i thought that might have been the issue, The old ram was 8GB 1600mhz and the new one is 16GB 2133mhz, I have tried changing it to 2400mhz, 1866 mhz and even 1333mhz but it doesn't change anything. Also I have already upgraded my bios just yesterday thinking it would fix the issue but it hasn't.

Breadboard it. Disconnect anything that isnt needed to test, to rule out any potentially faulty components.

Doesnt sound like a software issue as you have tried a wipe/reinstall.

I would also disable SLI and test. If that works then try a new SLI bridge (or reconnect the existing one in case its been disturbed and makign a bad connection)

I disconnected everything from the board, besides the ram and cpu, I tried running games with intel graphics and I even got my friend to bring his gtx 680 over to try and see if the issue persists, and yes the issue is still happening. I have minimized the issue on battlefield 4 and battlefield 3, basically it is non existent except for a few hiccups here and there, but crysis 3 and far cry 3 are stil having the stuttering issue. I have ruled out the graphics cards being a problem because i have tried 3 solutions.
