The Dreaded Bottleneck Question - GTX 980 SLI

So I feel as if I am not getting as high of frames as I should be with these beasts. Like WoW ( which I know is mostly CPU based ) I am only getting ~90fps and even Minecraft is not as high as it should be. Note: I am playing on a 144hz monitor so 144fps is ideal for me.

I have a Sabertooth z77
GTX 980s in SLI ( in first and second PCIe slot )
Some GSkill @ 1888-ish-mhz ( in first and third slot )
850W PSU
i5-3550

why on earth would you get a 980 sli when you can get a single 295x2 that beats it at a cheaper rate

he is defenitely in 4k... 295x2 is a clear winner in 4k

Monitor your GPU and CPU usage in games and see what is maxing out.

check your gpu cpu usage and temps using a software like speedfan...

play the game for 20 mins and see the temps and max usage

report back
