ok. so i have had the r9 290x gpu for a little while and since day one i have been having some trouble.
the issues are that whenever i play some games i get a black screen and i cant do anything, though the audio is still running. after a while the picture will come back but every application will have crashed. the games are: Titanfall, Battlefield 4, some Unity games, and DayZ. Many other applications have also crashed, like premiere pro, photoshop and many more games.
I also have bluescreens ALL pointing to atikmpag.sys. i have the latest official drivers. i have tested the beta ones to no avail. i have reinstalled my OS and drivers multiple times still there. though the bluescreen is relatively rare towards the blackscreen.
I have recently found a program, MemtestCl and i have ran a few tests. in one of the tests (1024mb tested, 50 iterations) it came up with 155776 errors, all of them in the random blocks section. it failed 48/50 iterations. now, i am not sure if it is just a false positive, or if it is true. i dont want to rma the card if there is nothing wrong with it. the card is not running any overclocks. the only change setting is the fan speed and max temperature of the card, witch i changed recently to see if the issues goes away.
My specs are:
PSU: 750w corsair psu
GPU: Sapphire Radeon R9 290x
Motherboard: ASUS P6T
Processor: I7 920 2.4 GHZ Quad core with hyperthreading.
6 GB of ram in three sticks.
OS: Windows 7 64x version.
