hi,

i am building a new PC
its gonna have the normal stuff
2x HDD of WD
1x SSD of samsung EVO 840
2x4GB RAM vengeance pro

and a graphic card which will be Vapor-X R9 290X 8GB or GTX 970

how much power do i need???
i know there is a huge power difference between the different GPU's
will 450W gold be enough?

A 500-550W is what I'll recommended for both GPU's. Get one from tier 1 or 2 from here-->http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html

Depending on your cpu and if you overlock, I think it will run on a 450w gold, but I would not recommend since it would be working at almost full load. When the psu starts to degrade it will not be able to feed enough power. I would recommend a good 550 watt psu (or higher if you overclock).
