I`ve been trying for the past month to install this damn network printer onto my computer. I had it working at first for a few days but then just stopped responding and hasn`t since.

All the connections are solid. I can connect to the printer's "bios" through it's IP on my computer so I know they are communicating alright. My parents and sister's Macbooks connected perfectly. They just do a search for network printers and it pops up. Me not so much.

First thing I did was set the printer to a static IP. Then I went to "Add a printer" in Devices & Printers and followed the instructions entering the IP address. I always get a screen that says "Additional port information required" indicating that something's screwed up. I go on anyway, choosing the Brother DCP 7065DN drivers. I print a test page, nothing comes out. I click troubleshoot for the printer and it tells me the queue was holding up so it cleared it. Big help lol.

Anyone know what the problem here is?

I have a Brother 2270DW, and when it connects it is great, and when it does not it is quite frustrating to troubleshoot. The link I provided can give you an organized approach to the problem.
