Trying to choose a motherboard for SLI 970's with a 4790k in an MSI themed build I just want to know personal experiences whether to avoid one or the other, how they overclock, issues, etc. input is appreciated
Thanks PIEapple that's the kind of overclock i'm looking to get with a custom cooling loop so maybe i'll get lucky and get to that 5.0! Your picture made me laugh by the way XD
If you want get to 5.0GHz,maybe you need a water-cooling and need to add a high Vcore value.
yeah i have a custom loop planned with a triple radiator with, 82 cfm 1,7 mm h20 pressure fans, and a 600 l/h pump i should be able to put one hell of a vcore on it
Actually,I have a water-cooling,but I use that on X99S platform(MSI X99S GAMING 9 AC with I7 5960X).
Your radiator is so nice, you can go 5.0Ghz for sure
I have MSI z97 Gaming 7 with 4790k too.My max overclock score is 4.8Ghz stable with air-cooling.This board have 12 power phase , good capacitance quility (SFC CAP) and nice heatsink.I use this board 6-month ago,no any problem happen.
