I'm wondering if I should look into getting a new graphics card, but the cost it would be to get a new one vs buying a cheaper one to crossfire with might not be worth it. The only thing im worried about is I might need a bigger PSU if I try and crossfire. My rig:

Corsair Builder Series CX600 600 watt 80 Plus Certified
XFX AMD Radeon HD 6870 900M 1 GB DDR5
AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition Callisto 3.2 GHz 2x512 KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 80W
GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
8 gb of ram as well

As a side note, im wondering if its possible my CPU is needing of an improvement as well? It seems like with the set up I have I should be able to play League of Legends at a consistent 60 fps, but I have seen from a few places that an older/lesser processor can bottleneck performance at higher aspect ratios. Additionally, having a background program going while playing throttles my fps, which also seems like a CPU problem. Any help would be appreciated.

A second 6870 or 6850 will work in that setup, provided you have a crossfire bridge. Your CPU isn't too bad, but if you were to upgrade again you'd likely need a new cpu.
