I currently have a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139041 installed in my system

I have a Rosewill Thor Case with all the fans on it
MSI|Z87-G45 GAMING Z87 is my motherboard
CPU INTEL|CORE I5 4670K is the cpu
I have a blu ray burner/drive
Creative sound blaster titanium x-fi pci card

Besides that nothing else really takes too much power- No water cooling just the stock fans and lights

I was wondering if I could run the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131548&cm_re=radeon_r9_290x-_-14-131-548-_-Product
The radeon r9 290x- in crossfire so using two of these babies

If i put these two in my system do you guys think my rig would be fine? extreme outervision is saying that it would only take 790 watts to run this system so would i be fine with my 860 watt power supply?

Solution
Should cover it fine. The AX series is arguably the best PSU out there so you can ride a little closer to the max output than with cheaper models but their efficiency should mean you're fine anyway.

Do you know that if my system was to overload with these specs would the system shut down safely with the power supply or would it overload and break some parts of the system?

The AX would gracefully power down if there was a failure. It's a good unit.

Cheaper PSUs will not have safety features for this and parts inside of them will simply break, rendering the unit useless but not the parts attached. Even cheaper PSUs still will take other parts with them. There was a PSU notorious for actually destroying the motherboard but remaining fully functional itself but I just love telling that fable.

The AX will take care of your power needs. From my knowledge of PSU's if the wall socket surges the AX will likely protect the rest of your PC, if your PC overloards the AX will shut down, and if you have a home intruder it will beat them to death with it's own power cord or something. You seriously can't go wrong with it, that's why it was so expensive to purchase.
