Hi all,

I am really hoping you can assist me with the issue I'm having, as ASUS Technical Support has been nothing short of useless.

I have purchased Cosair RAM, 2 sticks of 4GB each, when I install them, two things happen, the first is that unless I go into the BIOS and disable "Memory Remapping", my PC will not load Windows - at the point the Windows Logo appears, my PC drops into a boot loop.

If I disable "Memory Remapping" it loads fine, however if I check my System Information I only have 4GB available out of the possible 8GB (the rest is Hardware Reserved).

I have Windows 8 64bit, I have also tried this on a clean install of Windows 7 64bit.

I have taken the following troubleshooting steps so far:

- Installed the latest version of the BIOS (Revision 1703)
- Insured both "Number of Processors" & "Maximum Memory" is unchecked under "BOOT Advanced Options" in MSCONFIG.
- I have tried XMP & DHCP however I have not manually changed any voltages - The PC will BOOT fine under both, however the same amount of memory (4GB available, 4GB hardware reserved) is shown, if I turn on "Memory Remapping" my PC will boot loop again.
- I have unplugged my PC, removed the CMOS battery uninstalled the sticks, re-installed them then hold down the MEMTEST button untill the PC boots, during the POST, my BIOS shows 8GB installed however the issue persists.

My System specs are as follows:

CPU: Intel i5 running at 3Ghz
Memory: Cosair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9
OS: Windows 8.1 64bit

Also, CPU-Z shows 8GB installed.

Lastly, I have also removed my CPU and checked for bent pins, none of which I found.

Hopefully someone here who has experienced the same issue (as it seems quite common with ASUS boards) can help, or someone with more technical expertise than me.

Thanks for any assistance, and apologies for the long post...
Chad

Solution
Tried both sticks one at a time?
Also checked them with memtest86+?
http://www.memtest.org/
needs to be burned on a bootable dvd/cd.Start from it and run for at least 4 passes, also preferred per stick.
