Hi guys,

My PC suddenly won't turn on when I pressing the power button, it worked perfectly fine yesterday. But when I click the on/off button at the PSU my PC suddenly turn on and nothing seems wrong. (so i guess PSU and other hardware is not the problem) and I use it normally for gaming.

The day after the same thing happened again there is no response from power button and I get frustrated and try to click the on/off button of my psu. At first this has done nothing, but after several attempts switching on/off button my PC turn on and works fine.

Can anybody share some thoughts for the solution, I have put a lot of effort to buy this PC and this is all I have. If you have any suggestion feel free to tell me and I will be grateful to hear that.

PC Spec :
Intel i5 4460
Sapphire R9 280X Tri-X OC
WD Blue 1 TB
Asus H97 Pro Gamer
2x4Gb Corsair Vengeance
Seasonic X560
Couple of Corsair Fan
Asus DVD-ROM
PowerLogic T7 Terratron Case

Update :

On November 29 my seasonic X560 got an RMA, it was replaced by the new X560 and for about 3 weeks it works normally. But today I got the same problem. The PC wont turn on when I press the power button and I try to switch the on/off button in the PSU nothing works, in the end I try on/off my power switch from the wall and suddenly the PC turn on and works perfectly fine as I wrote this. Please help me find the solution its really frustating.

Thanks.

Put out the PSU motherboard cables, both main and CPU, reconnect tham back firmly, and check whether You have good polarity on Your motherboard concerning the jumpers responsible for power on/off a mainly the reset! In most of the cases, it doesn't matter what way they're connected, but in some rare cases it does the stuff it does to You. From electrotechnical point of view it's a nonsense, but from my experience, well, just try it :)

I know it sounds bizzare and does not make any sense and I am confused as well, all of the components is still one month old. Its works perfectly fine for the first 3 weeks. I will try your suggestion tomorrow and thanks for your quick response really appreciate it.

Hi, i know this thread is old, but i'm currently having the same problem, and it's really frustrating to turn on my PC by switching the power from the power supply repeatedly instead of hitting the power button. And sometimes it won't even turn on, so does anyone have the solution for this problem? or Does anyone else ever had the same problem?
Thank you.

The main culprit is the PSU, I changed the PSU and the PC works perfectly fine.
