Hi
I was told last night my AMD A10 6800k is the reason why my system is not running strong as its not allowing my R9 270x to work the way it should (CPU is holding GPU back).

so been looking at i5's but money is a bit of an issue right now.
can i ask will this bundel below allow my graphics card (FX8350) and CPU to run at full power and bring my gaming to life if the A10 6800k is holding me back.

thank you for any input.

the fx 8350 is a decent processor and willnot bottleneck you270x. it can hande even the 290

However if yoy can afford it the i5 4460+a decent H97/87 mobo will perform better.

AMD has good numbers , but they area easily outpaced by intel

NOTE - i am not sure but i dont think your A10 will bottleneck a 270x , i know a few guys with the build and i didnt hear them complain

I think it should, i have a FX6300 at stock speeds, and two Radeon 5850's overclocked to their max, and CPU usage in games is usually below 50%, and i see FPS gains in every OC i do to the cards, so there's plenty of room.

The 270x is not much faster than an overclocked 5850, so, a fx8350 should be good.

In fact, i know people wo drive a 290x crossfire with FX8350 with no problem hehe.

Thanks for all your replys and help.
since posting that question i have found a way of buying an i5 (4460 or 4690) and the other bits i need inside my budget so i am going to change from AMD to intel for the 1st time in my life.
so if everything works then my R9 270x should be flying with an i5

oh and reply to unknownofprob yes i am getting warning messages on screen during Assetto corsa saying CPU is at 95% work load if i race against 8 cars or more and thats the reason why i started investigating if or why my GPU is not pulling its weight.

thanks again to everyone.

Hi
Can i ask for a bit more info from you please as you clearly are picking up on something here.
the only other programs (that of any size) i know of running is Norton in the background and steam when it opens on its own as i open the game.

i have on order a i5 4690k & Asrock mod 1150 H97M so fingers crossed things work together better, but keeping my A10 as my 2nd not so powerfull PC for everyday tasks.

thank you

Mark.

Hi
As promised i am reporting back on the results.

Two days ago my new i5 4690k & Asrock H97M Pro4 & Hyper 212 EVO cooler turned up and were fitted.
i have to say what a difference in performance and smoothness i am very taken back to be honest.
i am using the same R9 270x GPU as i was and its flying now, for an example in Assetto Corsa with the A10 no more than 8 cars to race against before i got warning messages saying the CPU was it 95% load and everything looked and felt strained.
with the i5 with the same GPU on the same game now racing at max setting and 24 cars and its smooth as silk what a beautiful experience to enjoy.

the heat issue is also fixed i am pleased to say.
with the A10 it was pushing 35-40c on idle and 80-85c while gaming/video editing.
with the i5 its now idle at 20c and i have yet to see it pass 50c while gaming what a difference.

the only problem i have come across is on power up after fitting the MB & CPU i was greeted with a start up error screen.
i pressed the error scan as it recommended but after 10 mins it said PC can not start and it can not fix its self contact the manufactures, there was an option below to start windows normaly and i tryed both but nothing everything dead.
looking in the advanced bit i see an option to re install windows 7 and i remember somebody on here saying i should do this anyway to avoid conflicts so i went ahead with the re install and it came to life when it was finished and worked just fine.
but every time i power on my PC now i still get this start error screen but i can now select the start windows normaly option and its works fine and boots up.

has my PC got some bits left over from the old windows 7 thats coarsing me problems do you think should i try another re install will that solve anything?.

anyway one very happy i5 owner now and VERY impressed with the performance indeed.

thanks for all your help.
