Hi,
I'm before my first build and I haven't really decided on PSU yet. I'm planning to get an XFX 550W Pro Series (P1-550S-XXB9) , but this haswell compatibility stuff annoys me. It's not certified.. Can I use this power supply if I disable the C6/C7 low power state? Is it even a decent power supply?

Solution
thats a very decent power supply made by seasonic. yes it will work with haswell fine all you have to do is disable as you mentioned and you're good to go.

Hi - Check the XFX TS series, I think they are priced about the same and it's Haswell ready. If you
got a real good deal on the XFX 550 you mentioned, then just do as you and the others have said and
disable sleep state. But, 1st check n see if the TS series 550 is priced the same.

Thanks for the answers.
Good to hear I can get away with that psu. I think I'll go with the one I said, just because the budget is tight and it's the most affordable yet reliable power supply I found. The TS series is $106 while the "normal" is $73. I think I'll spend that other $33 on wireless adapter and some other small part.

Thank you. I live in Europe, so sadly that won't happen.. :/ That store sells both so I think they really give me that. But it would be good to get the newer and pay for the older. :)
