I am building a PC for my mother. She surfs the web, uses MS Word, MS Excel, saves/views her pictures, and plays Solitaire. It has been a while since my last build - please be gentle!

Processor: i5 4430 (she owns Intel stock, and only wants an Intel chip)
MotherBoard: Asus Z87-Pro
RAM: G. Skill Areas Series (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600
Video Card: None
SSD HD (for OS/programs): Crucial MX100 256GB
Data Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 1T
Power: Corsair CS500
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224DB
Case: CoolerMaster HAF912
Above hardware total: $712

OS: Windows 7 (she is very resistant to change, Windows 8 would frustrate/confuse her)
Monitor: AOC I2421 24"

Thanks for the quick responses. No gaming (other than solitaire/freecell - HA!). So, downgrading to the Pentium G3258 and the motherboard, looks like $530 total. Will this configuration handle web browsing (YouTube, Facebook...), and perhaps at some point watching a DVD/Netflix, or do I need to add a video card?

Processor: Pentium G3258
MotherBoard: Asus Z87-Plus
RAM: G. Skill Ripjaws (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1333

Video Card: None
SSD HD (for OS/programs): Crucial MX100 256GB
Data Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 1T
Power: Corsair CS500
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224DB
Case: CoolerMaster HAF912
Above hardware total: $530
