transferring processor thermal paste needed or no

i have a computer that i dont use because i have a new one but the old one has a better proccessor than my new on so my question is if i transfer the proccessor from my old on to the new one will i by chance need thermal paste because im guessing since it was working, and i upgraded computer i can just take out the processor and just put it my new one and it should be just fine but i want to be sure and i haven't had the old computer for over a year so its still pretty new
what do you guys think?

Just like USAF said yes.

And you need NEW thermal paste, never ever use used thermal paste.

ok thanks :D i really like this forum for the fast help gonna be posting more :D
one more question is there any big difference betweeen cyringe or grease thermal paste
