Actually an AMD FX 8370 is a good rendering CPU and it's really cheap. But if you have the money, you could also go with a Xeon, it's like an i7 but without the iGPU and cheaper.

If you were planning on using the iGPU, then yea, the i5 is a good value CPU for video editing. If you were planning to use a dGPU, then the E3-1231V3 and FX-83XX series are better value options.
