I'm building a new gaming PC for £800 but just wondering if I should upgrade or keep my AMD FX-4130 3.8 GHZ Quad Core Processor Black Edition

Solution
If you're gaming, YES upgrade it! Quad-core FXs are terrible for gaming. Don't get me wrong here, with a good GPU it will perform nicely, but there are better processors for a bit higher price that'll perform much better in games.

Assuming that you are keeping the am3+ socket motherboard, I would recommend te best cpu you can get, do not get a cheap cpu considering its one of the most important parts in your build. If I were you I would get an 8370, 8350, 8320, or even a 6300 depending on your budget. Just remember, don't get to caught up in the clock speeds. Intel has slower clock speeds but is more efficient.

Like others have said.. The 4130 isnt much of a performer. It will bottleneck most mid to high end cards.. I would just reuse your current board/RAM/HDD's..etc..etc and use the $800 to get a 8370 along with a GTX 970 or 980.

I would switch to intel. I'd get an i5 4570. Yeah it may cost you a little more ,but its worth the extra money. Also if you do. You have to change your board. I've been using a i5 2500k and its still a beast.
