I just downloaded AW last night, booted it up this morning and got into my first game....and was sorely disappointed. I get maybe 60ish FPS, peaking to like 100 if I'm in an area where there's not a whole lot going on, and my game stutters and has fps drops all over the damn place. It's annoying to say the least...I realize my specs aren't out of this world, and tbh they might even be considered not much higher than minimum to some people, but I could run Black Ops 2 on max settings 1600x900 with VSync ON at 60 fps no problem.

I've looked and looked and looked for tips and tweaks but they all don't seem to work, anyone know of some quick tricks to help the stutter and fps drop?

CPU: AMD FX-6300 @ 3.4Ghz
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7770 Ghz Edition
Memory: 8GB @ 1333mhz
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Solution
The main issues I see here are VRAM and the game itself. The 7770 is a capable card for mid range gaming, and while the FX 6300 isn't a beast of a CPU, it shouldn't cause bottlenecks either.
Starting...well, a while ago, GPUs with more than 2gb VRAM started becoming useful, while only lately they're starting to become ALMOST mandatory.
AW is quite the memory hungry title itself too, both system and video memory wise, and while 8gb are enough, they go out fast with it. No wonder it doesn't run up to expectations on your rig.

As much as any other COD, some settings are insanely heavy compared to others. What are yours?

Side note: You're comparing Black Ops 2 (whose engine is probably the most optimized and lightweight one...

Frankly, it's not surprising they run better.
