Can't install W7 on new system

Hey there! I just build a new mini- ITX gaming system and when I try to install it tells me this msg: "Setup was unable to create a system partition or locate an existing partition." The SSD (Samsung 840 evo) is brand new, so is the mobo ( Asus Z97i-plus) I really have no idea what to do now. I'm installing from a flash drive, if that matters.

So no other drive? Are you doing a USB ISO image installation? (No installation disk)

Yes, it's the only drive and I use a flash drive, no windows disk (since the dvd writes is dead)

Install the SSD. Check its seen in bios. Make the USB the first boot priority. Save. Restart the PC and follow instructions.

Ok so it's still the same. I set the flash drive to be boot option 1 and when i get into the windows installer it tells me" the installation program cannot create a new partition or locate an existing systempartition" I will link a picture of the screen. It's on norwegian but you'll get the picture

It should work if your Windows is 100% legitimate.

Read - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-usb-dvd-download-tool and make sure everything is OK

Might be the Norwegian confusing me - but it looks like your drive is already formatted.

Click advanced and delete the partition. It should display as "Unallocated" then let you continue.

Windows should load on a formatted drive anyway. It just reformats it.

The windows is legitemate, but it still wont install, have read around on forums but I can't seem to find the answer. I'll have to snoop around some more I guess

Trophyon :

On that screen can you go into Secure Boot and make sure it is disabled. Then go into CSM and set it to enabled or legacy.

What I did, and this is before I had installed W7. When you get to the language selection page before you choose which disk to install on, you press "shift + f10" and open the command window and.type *diskpart* and hit enter to get started. Now my SSD was set as disk 1, so I typed *select disk 1* and pressed enter, and after that typed *clean*and pressed enter and it was done. Type exit to get out of the command window. That made it work for me and I could install W7. Hope that helps
