Is the i5 4690 just the non-overclockable version of the 4690k?

Like the title says, are they both technically the same cpu just one is over-clockable? also if I purchase the 4690 non-k version with a gtx 970 and 8g of ram will I be able to play next gen games at 1080p 1920x1080 on ultra graphics at 60fps for the next 2 years?

Is the non-k version future proof for gaming?

Thanks in advance.

pretty much yeah however the price difference between the two isn't significant at all i'd recommend the k version because you could overclock it in the future to much higher frequencies obviously but the non k version is a solid performer and its a awesome cpu for gaming specially paired with a gtx 970, with this incredible combo of performance you'll be able to run all your games on ultra @1080p 60hz without breaking a sweat
