Title says it all, I'm looking for a good motherboard to overclock a Fx-4350 a good bit. Nothing insane with liquid nitrogen... :)

My MAX budget is $80, but if you could get a ways under that it would be great! I don't need more than one Pci-e x16 slot, and I only need 2 ram slots. Obviously it must be am3+, it only needs to support 1333mhz ram. Form factor either atx or micro-atx, only need 8gb of ram, and front panel audio.

That's all I can think of atm, but I will edit if I think of more.

Thanks!

Well right now you'll mostly be able to get a good gaming experience out of it. As you know games are GPU bound so the 7970 will help most games deliver good fps. But some games, especially the newer ones, are CPU intensive. If you get the 4350 to a decent overclock you'll be able to play most games fluently.
Some examples how the 4350(OC) fairs against the 6350(6300 should be about the same).

Not to be lazy and weird... but I read some positive reviews for this board: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132306&cm_re=Asus_M5A97_R2.0-_-13-132-306-_-Product

Is it any good? I would like to skip the mail in rebate, mainly because of bad past experiences with MIR's...

Thanks!

Afterthought: I'm fairly certain there will be at least a slight bottleneck, but how much would I need to overclock the 4350 to reduce/extinguish a bottleneck with a 7970 (rebranded 280x)?

Thanks again!

The ASUS M5A97 R2.0 is a good motherboard. Solid build quality.
But when overclocking the Gigabyte one has the upper hand because of it's better power phase design.

There will be a bottleneck with the 4350, even when overclocked. Get a CPU if you can, a FX 6300 or a FX 8320 will be much better in gaming. Right now there are some sweat deals on both CPU's.

Sorry for the delayed reply. I know there will be a bottleneck, but how much? Say I overclocked it to 4.7ghz, how much of a bottleneck would it be? It's the black edition, and the stock frequency is 4.2ghz. If I was playing Advanced Warfare, what fps would I get? (Don't worry, I'm not a fanboy, it's just an easy reference point for other games.) I wish I could get at least a Fx-6300, but I actually got the 4350 from a friend who just upgraded to an i7.

Thanks again!

(Tomb Raider for example doesn't care what CPU you have)
Notice the inconsistency. If you were getting a new CPU the 6300/8320 would be recommended but otherwise the 4350 will serve you well.

Thanks! Also, two more things, any idea how far you can go with the stock cooler? I plan to buy the hyperevo 212 at a later date, but it could be a while. Could I get to 4.7ghz? My case has pretty good airflow in general, and I added a fan inside.

The other thing, what gpu were they using in the benchmarks?

Thanks again for all your help!

Stock cooler = stock speeds. Not recommended for overclocking at all.
Run the CPU at stock speeds right now and wait for the Hyper 212.
I don't know how hot/cool the area where your PC stays is, but I'd still not OC.
A 7970 was used for the benchmarks.
