New Ram will not boot together

Recently purchased 4x4gig sticks of gskill F3-17000CL11D-8GBXL. Today upon installation I learned that 1 stick is DoA and the other 3 while posting fine individually will not post together. I have tried 2 sticks in every combination of slots, and 3 sticks as well. I already made sure my bios is up to date and changed settings in bios for ram timing and voltage. Pretty stumped at this point. Any advice (aside from the obvious RMA it) would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: I should also put here that the ram I had previously installed (3x2gig) is functioning perfectly.

Hello... are you "saving and exit" the settings, each time you change something in the BIO's?
What is your MB brand/model?
if you perform a Cmos Clear, the mb will try to determine the proper settings on Boot up... The next test, will be to get "two sticks" working together, in dual channel MODE at bootup.
Make sure you are not in " performance " mode on your MB, set it for " normal " operation.

Ram is sold in kits for a reason.
Ram from the same vendor and part number can be made up of differing manufacturing components over time.
Some motherboards can be very sensitive to this.
That is why ram vendors will NOT support ram that is not bought in one kit.

In particular, the more sticks involved, the harder it is to match them at the factory.
A ram controller has only one voltage to run all the ram so the sticks must be matched.

I would return the ram and buy a 2 x 8gb kit.

I understand the compatibility issues that may arise however even the pairs they sent are not functioning together.

Hello... Not all DDR3 communicates and is wired the Same... Is it possible your AMD Board requires some special Chipset "DDR3" ? there are alot of cases of this. You have to use online compatability listings to determine this.
try cleaning the Ram sticks with some Rubbing Alcohol and re-install them.

My bios was auto setting them to 1600 @ 9-9-9-24
Ironsounds: I am unaware of any "special ddr3" but the Dimms function properly when they are individually installed in slot 1.

Try with the one stick and set to 1600, 9-9-9-27, DRAM voltage at 1.575, CR at 2N or 2T (the T and N designation are interchangeable) the set the CPU/NB voltage to 1.2, save exit, shutdown, add second stick and try, if OK shutdown add 3rd stick and try, let me know how it goes

Went all the way to 1.40 which flashes red in my bios btw. Still no post with 3 dimms. I don't know if you are out of ideas good sir but I am out of time for the evening. If you have any other ideas please post them here, otherwise its RMA time and hope the next set works right?

Ok, so I may have been pre-emptive on calling my ram DoA. I have manage to make both pairs work in slot 1 and 2. I can not make them boot in any other slot combo, I also still can't boot more than 2 sticks. Both sets passed memtest today. I think I'm just boned with some sort of compatibility issue.

They do work in 1-2, that may be a good thing then and changes the possibilities a little - it may still be the two sets don't want to play, but might, possibly also be that your CPU cooler is too tight on 1 side or in a corner, which can affect the MC (memory controller), can try loosening the CPU cooler then snug it down, not overly tight but rather snug. Also opens the possibility of the controller being affected by bent and or broken pins

I should add that I had 3 sticks working in my old setup. Funny though about the bent pins, I had a bit of a mishap and bent several pins on my cpu at one point. After many painstaking hours of bending them all back I did manage to make it fit again. I am fairly sure I didn't break any of the pins though.
