Title says it all. I have no clue why my games crash. I've tried Black Ops 2, Advanced Warfare, BF4, Far Cry 4, Bioshock Infinite, etc. My CPU runs at about 45°C. I'm kinda a n00b when it comes to PCs, and I need your guys' (and gals') help..

PC SPECS:

  • CPU - AMD FX-6300
HDD - Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB
    PSU - NZXT HALE92-N 750W ATX12V
    Motherboard - ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970
    RAM - G.SKILL Sniper Series 8 gb (2 x 4GB) 1866
GPU - ASUS DirectCU II R9270X-DC2T-2GD5

All of those parts are stuffed in to a Rosewill Challenger. (Planning on getting a new case) :D Thanks for the help!

P.S Can you post a download link to some sort of GPU monitor? I wanna check my temps
P.P.S Can you recommend a good case under $120? Maybe one that hides and ugly non-modular PSU ;)

As for airflow, I have a 140mm fan in the front, a 140mm on the top (blowing air OUT of the case), and a 120mm fan in the back. I dont know what you mean by "report the result". Do you want the temps while gaming or something? I can only run games while playing at 1280x720 and high-ish settings, so I think it's overheating. EDIT: Idle it sits at 37°C. Also, whenever I try to monitor the GPU with a game open, HWinFO crashes. Also, I forgot to mention that when the screen goes black, I can still hear the audio. RE-EDIT: I was able to monitor the temps with some games on max settings. It runs at about 50°C-55°C.

When I open WhoCrashed, I get the following error:

The procedure entry point SymGetDiaSession could not be
located in the dynamic link library
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\dbgeng.dll.

I dont get a BSoD though. The games just go black. I can still see the windows start menu and everything, but whenever I open a program, the black screen will overlap everything.

Go to windows event logs and see what kind of error you're getting. More than likely it's "display driver has stopped responding and recovered" or your gpu is overheating.

Try monitoring your temps during gameplay for your gpu to check if it's overheating.

Also try reinstalling the drivers for your gpu. Uninstall the current ones then reinstall the latest ones from the amd website

Temps are normal and they sit around 70 C with high load. I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver. No popup message or anything when games freeze. The games just turn black, the audio continues and after some time, all windows that were open then close.

Also, sorry for the late responses. I've been busy with school and can only get on the forums late at night.

So I should get a new mobo?
EDIT: Wait a minute, I think you misunderstood, my GPU is at 70 C. My CPU is at 45 C
