OK. let me see if I can get all the information to you. I have a 500w power supply. Running a Asus Radeon HD3870 Graphics card (POS I know). I just bought the Radeon R9 270x card. My current card takes 1 6pin connector to power it I believe, however my new card requires 2 6pin connectors. How can I make this work? Do I need rewired or adapters? I am fairly tech savvy and can probably follow whatever you say, but simplified answers are nice too :) If anyone can help ASAP itd b great!

It must be this one:

I have no idea how you have been able to run even a 106W HD 3870 on that PSU. It only has a single 14 amp +12V rail! It's definitely not a "500W" PSU in spite of the rating. It doesn't even have a 6 pin connector does it? Are you using a Molex adapter to feed the HD 3870?

Anyway, don't attempt to run the 180W R9-270 on that PSU. At...

Corsair CX750 750 Watt 80 PLUS Bronze Certified Power Supply
What about that? I believe it has the components I need and I can get it for $50 (after a rebate) just didn't know if it was a good brand or not

Yes, it's good too. About in the same class as the one above but more power available for upgrading. Just don't depend on getting the rebate anytime soon. They take about 2 months to get. And it will come as a pre-paid debit card for the rebate amount.

ok fair enough. Before I go buying another PSU, are there any other components I need to look for to make sure it is compatible with my current setup now besides the 2 6pin connectors for my graphics? What about the motherboard or other drives?

That would depend on what your "current setup" consists of.
