Trying to finish a gaming build please help

I am building a high end gaming computer and nees some guidance. I currently have GeForce gtx 970 video card, 2x 4 gb ram, mx100 512mb ssd, 1 tb backup hdd, 850 watt power supply but I need to find a good motherboard and processor that will keep everything flowing at a high rate. Any suggestions as I am a mmo player as well as love to play alphas but have little knowledge of mobos. Thanks in advance.

CPU 4790K or 4690K
mobo Asus Z97-A or Asrock Z97 Extreme 4

Is the i7 really worth the price difference? I was thinking about an i5 that is only $139 while the i7 is an extra $200.

Thank you for the information. Asus z97 pro mobo with i5-4690k running right at $315 right now. I am thinking that is a winner.
