Hello
So I'm really confused right now.
I have a rosewill 650w hive psu
And a gigabyte hd 7870.

Now the card has two 6 pin entrances.

Where the psu has two 8pin pcie entrances and 4. 6 pin peripherals

I plug both pcie to the card and I try to boot and I physically see the fans spin for 2 seconds and then stop and then I get 1 long beep and 3 short beeps...

Can anyone help me out please?

Solution
Does your pc work without the gpu connected?
Also what motherboard do you own? You will have to check the manual for what the beeping means. It could be a faulty memory stick.

-good luck

I have an Asus m5a97 Le r2.0, the manual says that it is not detecting a vga.
I also assume that my computer works without the card as there are the beeps again and it continues to run afterwards same as with the vga in.

Okay try taking out the card out of the PCI slot (make sure to undo the clip first)
Then try putting it back in and firmly pushing it in and redo the clip.

If that doesn't work it may be a defective card, my first gpu did exactly what yours did. Turns out I got a replacement for free.
To truly test it, if you have another computer or a friend who owns a computer plug the 7870 into their computer and see if it works. From there you can try to define the problem

If it is the gpu, trade it in as soon as you can for a replacement.
