Corsair CS550M 550W 80+ Gold
AMD FX 8320
Asus M5A99X EVO mobo
8 GB DDR3/1600 KIT (2x4 GB)
GeForce GTX750 Asus GTX750-PHOC-2GD5 PCX vga
1 TB HDD S-ATA 3
Cooler Master Hyper x TX3 cooler
Sharkoon VS3
120 GB Kingston SSD
DVD-RAM LG
+2 more HDD sata/600 and SATA-II
Windows 7
The tech-dude says even a 330W PSU would be enough for this system, but im worried, as PSU calculator sites are gving me 650-800W recommended :S
Need some expert's opinion on this !
Thanks in advance

The CS series is not bad, like many of Corsair's newer units it's just not great either. On a low power build like yours it will be fine. I recommended against it because you can do better for the same or less money especially as the CS series is usually priced higher than their 'budget' performance justifies.

If you are doing a gaming build I would recommend getting a better GPU, a GTX 750 is good but if you want really good performance spend a bit more and focus the budget on GPU. Also there is a new manufacturing process with kingston SSD's where they are 3x as slower, not sure if it's still going on but it's a huge problem for some people.

ATM i have a simple 650 GTX GPU and was completely satisfied with it, i dont need much eye candy, just a decent and super reliable computer, indeed for some gaming (skyrim, dragon age 3, sims 3, sims 4) but for work too - meaning ill be storing highly important data on it.
I already ordered this config, now im just concerned about why the CS is not a good pick? Not sure i can change it, already took 3 days for the tech dude to even make this one available
I wanted ths one at starters : Seasonic G-650 80Plus Gold 650W
Then gone thru all the 2A ones...this Corsair CS is the best he could find....will my PC be at risk with this ? :S

I know this post is pretty old, but you can use www.pcpartpicker.com , enter your parts, and then at the top (right?) Will be your PC's power consumption. The CPU can't be more then around 50 watts than the first one you picked. Pretty sure 550 watts psu will be good for your build.

The list in my first post is accurate.

I went ahead and added/made your build for you. For the graphics card, I couldn't find the ASUS GTX 750 2GB version, only the 1GB version. So I went ahead and swapped it for the MSI GTX 750 with the Twin Frozr cooler just for wattage sakes. You said 1TB HDD, a SSD, and 2 other possible HDDs. I made the two other additional HDDs SATA 3, just to make it a little easier for me on searching for the parts. I couldn't find your case, however, the amount of fans shouldn't affect the total PC wattage by too much.

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/ALDJ0922/saved/pK2BD3

The total estimated wattage at the top right is 334 watts. So the tech guy was right with the 330. Changing from the FX-8320 to the FX-8350 had no change on the power consumption.

The FX-8350 is 125 Watts TDP http://pcpartpicker.com/part/amd-cpu-fd8350frhkbox

The FX-8320 is also 125 Watts TDP http://pcpartpicker.com/part/amd-cpu-fd8320frhkbox

So yes, to answer your question, a 550watt PSU will be just fine for your build. Like I am pretty sure others have told you, or by what you have seen, go with at least, a Certified 80+ Bronze PSU. :)
